Bentonite is used as one of the main ingredients for producing auto primer, carpentry primer and anti rust paints. This thixotropic substance is required to formulate polyester and acrylic paints, cosmetics and varnishes. This chemical easily disperses in organic solvents and also in resin at room temperature. Its viscosity tends to raise under specific operating environment. Bentonite is basically a type of clay which is well known for having 10 to 12 ml2 gr swelling range and maximum 8% moisture level. This clay tends to swell 20 times more than its original volume when exposed to water. It has strong colloidal attributes and has viscous content.
